I've been AWOL!

It has been a busy summer.  I've been absent for quite some time but I'll post a few things we've been up to....
June 26th, our friends March and Katie tied the knot!  It was a gorgeous wedding and we had a great time, they are such a cute couple....we wish you all the best!!
We had fun trying to dance around my big 'ol belly.  There's something wrong about dancing to "I'm too sexy" when you're pregnant.

Here is a 26 week bump picture:

For Father's Day, Chuck and Cathy made a trip to DM and we went out for brunch at Granite City.
I bet you can't guess who Patrick's dad is!!
I took this snapshot without their knowledge while waiting for a table, it makes me giggle.  I couldn't ask for a better father-in-law so I'm glad my hubby follows so closely in his footsteps:)

Father/Son...they knew this photo was being taken....

For the Fourth of July weekend we headed in to Chicago.  We stayed with Daniel and Erin and they showed us a great time in the city.  We ended up getting a lot of culture while we were there!  We went to Chinatown on Saturday afternoon:

We laughed hysterically at this sign....need I say more??

That night we went out for Greek food.  Other than George's Gyro stand in Iowa City, I hadn't ever had Greek food.  We sat outside and it was a gorgeous night!

They had a nice fountain in the huge outdoor eating area.  I tried to capture the ambiance and I believe I failed miserably.

We also went on a "gangster" tour of Chicago.  They told the stories of the gangsters around the time of prohibition and drove us past the corresponding locations in the city.  It was very interesting but the bus wasn't very well air conditioned.  I thought I was going to have a heat stroke but I made it through and I'm glad we went!

On Sunday, Daniel and Erin had a party at their condo.  They have a deck on the rooftop and you can see fireworks all over the city from there.  Here is a picture of Sear's Tower, taken from the rooftop:
Above is a photo of my final cake from the cake decorating class Betsy, her sister and I took in June.  I think my cake turned out really horrible.  It looks like a 5 year old did it.  It wasn't quite how I had pictured it when I set out to decorate it.  However, at least an almost 3 year old ate it! Thanks, Connor!!

Fireworks are so hard to capture with a non-professional camera but you could literally see hundreds of fireworks displays, it was quite impressive!

I think Caiden and Connor were impressed too!

Here is a 29 week bump photo and below is a 30 week bump photo, which brings us up to tonight.

I look as though I'm leaning back so I can keep myself from falling over.  Probably could have done a better photo but I really don't care right now!
Baby P is growing like crazy and has been kicking and moving around a lot. Daddy and I just love to sit and feel the baby move.  I'm getting pretty exhausted by the end of the day and my hands and feet are starting to plump up (along with every other part of my body...eek!!). Last weekend we were supposed to go to a family reunion in Illinois and only made it about an hour down the road before I was in tears.  I was extremely uncomfortable and couldn't catch my breath.  This humidity and the shape of the car seat put me over the edge.  I called the doctor and she suggested we head to the ER in the event that I had a blood clot.  Everything was fine but needless to say, we ended up staying home for the remainder of the weekend. I think baby is getting so big that when I sit it gets pretty uncomfortable unless I'm in the right position.  My lungs are getting pushed out of the way!
We're (or should I say, daddy is) making progress on the baby room.  Patrick painted and put together the crib and changing table last week!  I'll post photos when we get closer to being done.
Whew, that was a long one....thanks for hanging in there with me!!
