Triathlon

We have been having some computer difficulties which Patrick has done a fabulous job of fixing.  In the meantime, my blogging has gotten a lot behind.

The beginning of June, Patrick and his 2 brothers and brother-in-law did a sprint triathlon.  They all did a fabulous job.  It was a grueling race consisting of a 0.5K swim, a 25K bike and a 5K run.  Despite my extensive training with Patrick on proper freestyle form, he did about 2 strokes of freestyle and then regressed to strictly survival mode consisting of sidestroke and doggy paddle.  His brother, Daniel, found his unknown skills in the backstroke and stated that he simply did it in order to breathe...it worked, he came out of the water first of the 4!
The night before the race we had a good laugh over the new swim caps they all had to wear.  They were in the "Clydesdale" division and had to wear purple.  Here they are trying on their gear:

We all decided that morning came too soon, they left around 5:00AM to head to the big race over by CR.

We'll play a little game of "where's waldo"  Can you find the related Clydesdales in this photo???

Next, my camera died:(  I have more photos but they are on Cathy's camera.  They all did a wonderful job and we're very proud of them!  In my dreams I see myself crossing the finish line next June.  To all you seasoned mothers out there, I'm sure you definitely think that's a very distant dream.  But, it's okay to dream, right? right?
